The Tuki Tuki river is a beautiful Hawke's Bay river. In the context of the fast-flowing river, "Tuki" means paddle and "Tuki Tuki" means paddle faster (when going upstream).

Dick Frizzell says "Moving down country and building a new house on the beach it seemed an obvious thing to do...specially with an order for two big beautiful couches in the pipeline as well.
